Culture, Worldview and Origins:
Why We See Things Differently
Welcome to Culture, Worldview & Origins! I'm Professor Tim Nyquist. Throughout this video series, I'll guide you on an intriguing exploration of human thought and behavior in diverse cultural contexts. During our time in Bolivia, South America, our family and university students had the incredible opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich landscapes of the Andes Mountains and the Amazon River Basin. But beyond the adventure, what truly fascinated me as an educator was understanding how cultural influence shapes people's thinking. Drawing on techniques and tools from my Ph.D. program, I've gained valuable insights into tailoring teaching methods to align with cultural perspectives. By making adjustments in the classroom, I've seen firsthand how this enhances the learning experience for both students and myself. This platform is a space for those curious about the diversity of human thought. Ever wonder why we have different perspectives on religion, education, or science? Through these educational videos, we'll delve into culture, worldview, philosophy, and scientific theories of human origins. Whether browsing through specific topics or following the series sequentially, I invite you to join my wife and me on this journey of discovery. We encourage you to share your experiences and insights as we deepen our understanding of ourselves and others. Let's embark on this perspective adventure together!
